How to properly determine your dog’s chest size: Use a cloth measuring tape from behind the front legs to around the deepest point of your dog’s chest to determine a perfect fit. If you do not have a tape measure, you may use this method with a piece of string and lay it next to a ruler or yardstick to get an idea of his or her chest size. Add 2 inches to the measurement for comfort to determine your dog’s chest size.

How to properly determine your dog’s neck size: Measure around the center of your dog’s neck using a tape measure or piece of string as described above. There should be no room between the measuring tape and the neck, but the tape shouldn’t be pulled around so tightly that it’s choking your pet. Add 2 inches to the measurement for comfort to determine your dog’s neck size.

How to determine your dog’s length/back length: Measure from the base of your dog’s shoulder blades, to the base of your pet’s tail along the back bone (sometimes called the topline).
